Gearing up for MAP!

MAP testing begins next week!  Our class has been working so hard and they are prepared to do their best on the test!!

Parents just a couple of reminders:

• Please send your note/letter of encouragement to your student by Friday, April 8th.  If you would like you can just send it in an envelope addressed to Mrs. Whaley- MAP and I will hand them out on the first day of testing. 
• Please remember that it is especially important for your student to be here at school and on time, each and every day.

MAP Contest!!!!

Motivational Contest Rules

Any 3^rd, 4^th, or 5^th Grader may enter.  One winner from each category per grade level will be announced at the MAP Kick Off Pep Assembly.

Students may work individually or with a partner.

Public Service Announcement

Students wishing to enter this contest will be required to create a video with a test-taking or stress-relieving strategy or an encouraging message to students.  Videos will need to be submitted electronically (on a dvd, cd, through email, or another type that can be viewed on the computer.)  Videos must be less than 1 minute and must be approved by a teacher before submitted.

Poster

Posters must be on a poster board size sheet or smaller.  Posters must advertise a test-taking or stress-relieving strategy or an encouraging message to students.  Posters must be approved by a teacher before submitted.

Song, Poem, Rap, etc.

Any type of appropriate music or poems may be submitted.  They must be test-taking, stress-relieving, or encouraging to other students.  These must be approved by a teacher before being submitted and must be less than 1 minute long.

Winners will eat lunch with the principal!

Warm Up Wednesday!

Last week we kicked off our Warm Up Wednesdays!  We had a kick off assembly with two special guests, The Eagle and “Justin Bieber".  Ask your student about this exciting assembly.  Every Wednesday from now until the MAP test we will be focusing on specific test talking strategies and MAP like questions.  We are encouraging students to wear their warm up clothes and get ready to exercise their brains!

February News Letter

This week

Tommorow, December 15th, is a Hat Day.  If you would like to wear a hat bring $1.00 to donate to West Englewood families for the holidays.

Friday, December 17th, is Exercise Clothing Day.  We will be playing bucket ball for an mid-year Eagle reward.  Students may also bring their favorite stuffed animal and book to read.  We will be having our holiday party 3:00 to 3:45.
